Since the end of the 20th century, physical written communications, such as letters, policies, notes and contracts, have been increasingly replaced by digital variants. Logically, digital documents cannot be signed by pen. This is only possible indirectly by printing a digital document, signing it with a pen and then 'digitizing' the document again by scanning it in. What is often experienced by the person in question as annoying.
Nowadays, there are options for digital signing and certification, so that digital communications also have a degree of legal validity. There are 3 grades that we won't discuss in this article; SES (simple), AES (advanced) & QES (qualified). The EU has drawn up the eIDAS regulation for this purpose, which provides guidance on how to arrange safe and reliable communication.
For example, the (digital) certification of a health insurance policy is a legal obligation.

Inside”CCM in the Cloud” we process large numbers of digital documents that are made available to the recipient in many different ways. Some of these documents have such content for which you, as an organization, want to provide proof that this content is authentic and honest, in other words, you want to “digitally certify” (also known as e-sealing). If a document is changed after e-sealing, the digital seal expires and the document is unreliable. This check is performed each time the document, such as a PDF, is opened.
Within the certificate, it is also possible to find out which authority or person signed it and, for example, whether the document has a time stamp.

By integrating “CCM in the Cloud” with services that make signing/e-sealing possible, we offer our customers the opportunity to process digital output, provide them with a legally valid certificate and ship them.
It is important to mention that, although “CCM in the Cloud” uses e-seal services from our specialized partners, privacy-sensitive data is never exchanged with this partner. In doing so, the digital document never leaves the secure “CCM in the Cloud” environment.
