Digitization
At CCM, we excel when it comes to digital communication. We know what the market developments are in digital communication, have a network of chain parties and have the knowledge to set up and manage the entire communication process for our customers. And we do that in the Cloud.
Many organizations are in a digital transition and are continuously increasing the digital adoption rate of their customer base. And we help them with that.
CCM offers various ways to communicate digitally with customers, such as email, SMS, in-app communications, push notifications and message box. In addition, we have integrated various digital functionalities into our solution. For example, it is possible to send digital payment requests and sign documents digitally via CCM.
Corporate Social Responsibility
In addition to digital communications, we still have a lot to do with communications on paper. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, we have made an inventory of our Print Service Providers that are affiliated from CCM. We asked them what they do as an organization in this area to keep their impact as small as possible and how they envision the future.
For all Service Providers we have spoken to, the Corporate Social Responsibility policy is an important part of their business operations. For example, investments are being made in projects related to social return, for example by employing people at a distance from the labor market. Various local initiatives are also supported, green delivery is carried out as far as possible and green energy is used, and CO2 compensation takes place. One of the providers states: “With the CO₂ & Energy RI&E, we have made our CO₂ footprint measurable and, with this data, we can focus on reducing our CO₂ footprint, not only for printing but for all our business activities.”
Both inkjet printers and laser printers are used to print (transactional) communications. As far as ink is concerned, some use vegetable oil instead of petroleum-based oil, also known as bio-ink or eco-ink. The paper that is used comes from sustainable forest management and has a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) label. CO2 neutral paper is also used. This is paper that offsets the CO2 that is released - measured over the entire production chain. Completely white paper is often bleached. None of the providers (yet) has a Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) label that states that no chlorine (but often oxygen) was used to bleach.
When asked what developments they see in the near future that could contribute to a reduced (environmental) impact, it is expected that printers and paper will become increasingly environmentally friendly. They also see opportunities in making the required transport more sustainable. One of the organizations states: “In the case of printing and thus using paper, we use CO₂ neutral or recycled paper as much as possible and provide advice to our customers”.
We would like to thank our Service Providers who participated in the creation of this article!
